Turkey has recently focused on the process of integration with the European Union. The rapid process of globalization and the increasing technologic innovations have led people to develop their human resources. Neurophysiologic methods are used to determine the deficiencies of diseases happening with the breakdowns of central nervous system. The Program of Electroneurophysiology aims to train the staff educated at the level of vocation school, who can work under the control of specialist physicians in the use of these methods. The graduate of the program are entitled as health technician (electroneurophysiology technician). The students who want to study at this program should know that they are directly connected to the patient. Electroneurophysiology is an important branch of neurology and physiology, and it is necessary that those who will choose this profession should have a high level of professional performance and desire for research. It is vital for everybody that suffers from epilepsy and other paroxysmal diseases and sensory losses. Electroencephalography (EEG) is the most important method of diagnosis for epilepsy and similar diseases.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is the most important method in the diagnosis and definitive diagnosis of epilepsy and similar diseases. EEG technicians are trained within the master-apprentice relationship in our country. In Turkey, important advancements have been achieved in studies on sleep and sleep disorders in recent years. The polysomnography devices, used in the making of sleep analyses, are used by the well-trained EEG technicians. The program is designed to train medical staff who can use EEG and polysomnography devices in the diagnosis of some diseases at the clinics of Neurology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology and who can make the analyses of somatosensorial, brain stem, visual and motor stimulation potentials. In addition, the program is designed to train staff equipped to assist the doctor in the analyses of the electroneuromyography (ENMG/EMG), the most important diagnosis equipment of neuromuscular and peripheral nerve diseases, and to carry out sensual studies. What makes this program important is that a lot of hospitals, public and private health institutions need qualified personnel trained in the profession.

The syllabus of the Program of Electroneurophysiology consists of the courses containing information that can be used in every stage of working life. Neuroanatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Neurology, Cognitive Neurophysiology, EEG, EMG, and Polysomnography are the primary courses. Our students also take the chance for internship.
